Bilinear Ideals in Operator Spaces

We introduce a concept of bilinear ideal of jointly completely bounded mappings between operator spaces. In particular, we study the bilinear ideals $\mathcal{N}$ of completely nuclear, $\mathcal{I }$ of completely integral, $\mathcal{E}$ of completely extendible bilinear mappings, $\mathcal{MB}$ multiplicatively bounded and its symmetrization $\mathcal{SMB}$. We prove some basic properties of them, one of which is the fact that $\mathcal{I}$ is naturally identified with the ideal of (linear) completely integral mappings on the injective operator space tensor product.Comment: 24 pages, accepted for publication in Journal of Mathematical Analysis and Application

Free-Space Quantum Key Distribution

Based on the firm laws of physics rather than unproven foundations of mathematical complexity, quantum cryptography provides a radically different solution for encryption and promises unconditional security. Quantum cryptography systems are typically built between two nodes connected to each other through fiber optic. This chapter focuses on quantum cryptography systems operating over free-space optical channels as a cost-effective and license-free alternative to fiber optic counterparts. It provides an overview of the different parts of an experimental free-space quantum communication link developed in the Spanish National Research Council (Madrid, Spain).Comment: 22 pages, 15 figure

Effects of brain insulin in conditioned place preference using exercise as a reward stimulus

Curs acadèmic: 2016/2017Researches suggest that physical activity is effective to prevent or treat stress-related psychiatric disorders such as depression, anxiety, and substance abuse disorders. Both, natural and drugs rewards is processed by the mesolimbic dopamine system; and also this is implicated to rewardrelated behavioral disorders. Studies supports the hypothesis that physical activity act as powerful natural stimulus of the mesolimbic system, using the conditioned place preference (CPP) paradigm with cues associates to voluntary exercise on the running wheel. On the other hand, several studies had reported that insulin can modulated aspects related to memory and learning, which are involved in reward-related behaviors, however, further data are necessary to understand these mechanisms. In addition, an important mediator of insulin/IGF1 (insulinlike growth factor-1) signaling is ERK (extracellular signal–regulated kinases). Evidence supports its implication in learning and memory, and is expressed in the NAcc and activated during exposure to natural and drugs rewards. Our hypothesis is that if insulin signaling can modulate preference to drugs via its effect on dopaminergic transmission in the mesolimbic system, it could similarly modulate preference to the context paired with voluntary exercise. In order to set up the behavior paradigm to study insulin/IGF1 signaling effect in preference for a rewarding stimulus such as exercise, male Wistar rats intraventricular insulin injections treated were used to study the rewarding effects on CPP paired to voluntary wheel running. pERK, IRS2, and IRS1 expression was assessed by immunohistochemical analysis. We found that intraventricular insulin injection showed no significant differences on conditioned place preference using exercise as a reward stimulus. pERK phosphorylation increases in specific brain regions of the insulin injected rats. IRS1 and IRS2 expression displays a different pattern in prefrontal cortex nucleus accumbens and ventral tegmental area. We suggest that the responses of animals in a CPP paradigm can be improved by insulin, due to insulin signaling into the reward areas. Data of immunohistochemical analysis support other studies that reported role of insulin into VTA neurons. Nevertheless, are needed additional research focus on the effects of insulin injections into mesolimbic regions as NAcc or VTA to understand what it is the role of insulin modulating reward-related behaviors

Valoración de la eficacia de Askina® Calgitrol® paste en pie diabético

Treball Final de Grau de Podologia, Facultat de Medicina i Ciències de la Salut, Universitat de Barcelona, curs: 2016-2017, Tutor: Carolina Padrós SánchezResumen: Uno de los aspectos más importantes a tener en cuenta en el tratamiento de úlceras en el pie diabético es el control de la infección, para ello se han desarrollado numerosos productos antimicrobianos, donde destacan los agentes tópicos que incluyen plata dado su amplio espectro antimicrobiano. Askina® Calgitrol® paste es un apósito antimicrobiano compuesto por una matriz de alginato y plata iónica en forma de pasta, y es actualmente uno de los productos más utilizados. Objetivos: Conocer los productos antimicrobianos utilizados en la cura de heridas y la eficacia de Askina® Calgitrol® paste en el tratamiento de úlceras de pie diabético. Metodología: Se realiza una búsqueda bibliográfica, y se elabora un estudio experimental basado en la recolección de información de pacientes con úlceras del pie Diabético que fueron atendidos en la UFPD, durante el período de noviembre de 2016 a abril de 2017.Resultados: En la búsqueda bibliográfica encontramos información sobre 10 productos antimicrobianos más utilizados como tratamiento de heridas en pacientes con DM. Se incluyeron 20 pacientes procedentes de la UFPD, 16 pacientes fueron tratados con Askina® Calgitrol® paste y 4 pacientes con Cutimed® Sorbact®. Las úlceras de pie diabético se presentaron en mayor medida en el grupo de pacientes con DMII. La localización más frecuente fue la zona MTT con 55%, seguido de la región amputada con un 30%. El 70% de cicatrización total tuvo lugar en el, período de tiempo de 20-30 días con ambos tratamientos. En cuanto a las ventajas y desventajas de ambos productos encontramos que la gran diferencia es la presentación del producto. Conclusiones: En la actualidad existen numerosos productos antimicrobianos destinados al tratamiento de heridas. Askina® Calgitrol® paste y Cutimed® Sorbact® demuestran tener una gran eficacia como tratamiento antimicrobiano en úlceras de pie diabético, siendo su forma de presentación lo que marca una gran diferencia entre ambos productos

Los personajes femeninos en la novena parte de las comedias de Lope de Vega: Comedias con nombre de mujer

El estudio de los personajes femeninos en el teatro áureo no es novedoso y han sido muchos los críticos que a lo largo de las últimas décadas han intentado hacer una reflexión en torno al papel que los dramaturgos de este período dieron a la mujer. Las protagonistas de las obras que Lope de Vega llevó a las tablas también han sido objeto frecuente de investigación, y las opiniones en torno a la postura que el escritor tenía sobre la mujer son heterogéneas y controvertidas. El propósito del presente trabajo es demostrar que gran parte de las piezas teatrales de la Novena parte de comedias de Lope se caracteriza por tener una fuerte y variada presencia femenina. Para llevar a cabo nuestro estudio partimos de la tesis propuesta por el investigador Javier Rubiera (2002), quien afirma que este volumen reúne un número significativo de obras que tienen a la mujer como centro. A esta apreciación se añade la premisa de que estas comedias no se limitan solamente a tener como protagonistas a mujeres, algo evidente en los títulos de varias de ellas, sino que también es visible percibir en las obras diferentes tipos femeninos que contrastan entre sí y que sacan a relucir de modo especial el debate sobre la educación de la mujer y sus capacidades intelectuales.Grado en Español: Lengua y Literatur

Estudio de las estructuras familiares a través de la narrativa transmedia: innovación docente

El trabajo de fin de grado presenta una propuesta de intervención basada en la innovación docente en el ámbito de la Educación Superior, concretamente en el campo de actuación de la Educación Social. El análisis central se basa en la utilización de la narrativa transmedia como herramienta socioeducativa en el estudio de las estructuras familiares, fomentando la multifuncionalidad docente y el uso de los medios de comunicación social para analizar temáticas sociales de gran relevancia para los estudios del Grado en cuestión. A modo de conclusión, se relaciona la importancia de la innovación educativa en el Sistema Educativo actual, así como el papel profesionalizador de la Educación Social en el campo de la educación reglada, vinculando competencias y funciones concretas.Grado en Educación Socia

James Wadsworth’s The English Spanish Pilgrim: An anti-Catholic attack on Jesuits

From the sixteenth century onwards, anti-Catholicism was at the heart of the tensions between Spain and England. With the foundation of the Company of Jesus in 1534, anti-Catholic criticism focused on the Jesuits since they were the main representatives of Catholicism. The following dissertation assesses how James Wadsworth contributed to anti-Catholicism with his pamphlet The English Spanish Pilgrime, or, A New Discoverie of Spanish Popery and Jesuitical Stratagems (1629). To achieve this purpose, it examines the author’s portrayal of the Jesuits in connection with the arguments commonly used by other anti-Catholic authors, and with the vocabulary or expressions accompanying these arguments. This graduate dissertation proves that it is a Jesuitical criticism heaped with negative connotations that influence the reader's perception about the Jesuits.Desde el siglo dieciséis en adelante, el discurso anticatólico ha estado en el centro de las tensiones entre España e Inglaterra. Con la fundación de la Compañía de Jesús en 1534, la crítica anticatólica se centró en los jesuitas por ser los principales representantes del catolicismo. El presente Trabajo de Fin de Grado analiza el modo en que James Wadsworth contribuyó al discurso anticatólico con su panfleto The English Spanish Pilgrime, o A New Discoverie of Spanish Papery and Jesuitical Stratagems (1629). Para lograr este propósito, se examina la descripción que el autor realiza de los jesuitas, relacionándolos con los argumentos comúnmente utilizados por otros autores anticatólicos, y el vocabulario o expresiones que acompañan a estos argumentos. TOWARDS THE AUTOMATISATION OF A FOREIGN LANGUAGE: SENSORIMOTOR DRILLING, THE STRUCTURATION OF LINGUISTIC INPUT ON THE BASIS OF PROCESSING DEMANDS AND SENSORY CHUNKING

The current study presents the results of a treatment that sought to improve the 3rd person singular -s of the present simple tense. Sixty-four EFL learners from three different primary schools participated in the experiment. Learners were divided into a control group and two experimental groups. Whereas the control group followed its own school instruction, the two experimental groups followed a treatment that was based on neuroscience and psychology and that integrated innovative pedagogical techniques (©2018, 2019, Verónica Mendoza Fernández): sensorimotor drilling, the structuration of linguistic input on the basis of processing demands and sensory chunking. Learners carried out four pretest-postest tasks. Here are presented the results of one of the tasks: oral sentence transformation. The findings of the study indicated that statistical significance was reached by the two experimental groups only. Article visualizations

History of Education reforms in Spain.

This work provides a succinct historical overview of the history of the Spanish education system from 1812, date of the first Spanish Constitution, until 1970 at the end of the Francoist era in Spain, highlighting the legislative milestones and contextualising them within the larger political landscape in which they took place. The paper will go on to describe the basic legislation which has regulated the Spanish education system since 1970 describing some of their most significant aspects, from the General Education Law (LGE) of 1970 to the Organic Law Modifying the Organic Law for Education (LOMLOE) which came into force in 2020.post-print744 K
